Getting to Mandalika Lombok
Mandalika is located in the south of Lombok Island, 17 km away from the airport and approximately 50 km from the city centre of Mataram, the province’s capital.
Flight protocols must be considered when planning a trip to Lombok. One of the main requirements that you must fulfil before a flight out of town is having a Non-Reactive rapid test or a Negative PCR Swab test as proof that your physical condition won’t harm yourself or others. You can do the Antigen test at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport if you depart from Jakarta, precisely in Terminal 2F of Terminal 3. The fee for the rapid test is IDR 150,000. The airport doesn’t supply nor offer PCR testing, so you have to do it in the nearest clinic or hospital at the cost of approximately IDR 950,000 to IDR 2,000,000. The Covid-19-free certificate is only valid for 2 working days. If you pass the allotted time, you have to do another rapid test.
Flight
Flights to Lombok from Jakarta are available every day and from Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Bali. The airlines that serve Lombok flights include Garuda, Lion Air, Citilink, Batik Air, Sriwijaya, and AirAsia. The flight from Jakarta to Lombok is approximately 1 hour and 55 minutes; however, it takes a shorter time to reach Lombok with a 30-minute flight if you’re in Bali.
The costs incurred are quite affordable, ranging from IDR 500,000 to 1,000,000 if you fly via Jakarta or Bali. Don’t forget to plan your trip to avoid high prices.
Boat
Trips using a boat are typically delightful if you have a lot of free time to enjoy it. To get to Padang Bai Harbour in Bali, it takes approximately 2 hours from Kuta or Denpasar using a motorcycle or car. Once you’ve arrived at Padang Bai Harbour, you will be charged IDR 46,000 for adults and IDR 29,000 for children for a trip by boat to Lembar Harbour in Lombok. The journey from Padang Bai to Lembar will take around 4-5 hours.
