Situmurun Waterfall is different from other waterfalls.

The site is in SitumurunVillage, Lumban Jalu District, Toba Samosir Regency. You can see the landscape of Lake Toba from here. Situmurun Waterfall is also known as Binangalom. The source of Situmurun Waterfall’s water is from Binangalom Village. In the Batak language, “Lom” means fresh, and “Binanga” means river. As the name implies, Situmurun Waterfall has fresh water. You can enjoy its beauty from the boat or swimming around it. If you are not good at swimming, you can use a buoy. Do not swim near the area where the waterfall falls because the water flow is very strong. Be careful because the rocks are slippery. In addition, tourists can fish by bringing their own fishing equipment.
Access to Situmurun Waterfall is only a water transportation route by renting a boat from 1,000,000.00-2,500,000.00 IDR depending on capacity. Activities carried out on the boat are singing and eating barbeque. Each ship provides a buoy. Come to this place with a group to cut costs. Local people think that the boat rental is expensive. Passengers can ask the crew to go around Lake Toba, such as to the villages of Sigapiton, Ambarita, and Tuk-tuk. Take care of your cleanliness and attitude because this is a mystical area. You can see cranes trying to catch Pora-pora fish near the waterfall. There is a foundation at the edge of the waterfall. The best time to enjoy Situmurun Waterfall is at dusk while enjoying the sunset.
How to Get There
Situmurun or Binangalom Waterfall is far from the city so that this place is still quiet and beautiful. From Medan or Silangit International Airport, direct the vehicle to Parapat City. The distance is about 4 hours from Medan. It is about 2 hours from Silangit International Airport. In Parapat City, you can get off at Tigaraja Harbor, Atari Beach Hotel, or Ajibata Harbor to rent a boat to Situmurun Waterfall. However, it is better if you book a ship before to make the schedule more effective. The boat ride to this area is about45 minutes.
