Lengkuas Island

Lengkuas Island is one of the many Islands in the archipelago of Bangka Belitung Province. To the north from Tanjung Kelayang Beach, Sijuk, Belitung.

The landmark of this island is the old lighthouse build by the colonial government of the Dutch East Indies in 1882. It has a history of lighting the silk path of the old and still guiding sailors around Belitung Island even after more than a century. The exciting part of Lengkuas Island is its landmark, the 139 years old lighthouse. To reach the top, you have to climb 17 floors, and each floor consists of 11-19 stair. It is, of course, quite tiring, especially for older adults. I can assure you the view from the top of the lighthouse is worth it for you to climb to the top.

At the top of the lighthouse, you will be delighted by the mesmerizing view of the whole Bangka Belitung Archipelago. The spectacular view of the many islands and the vast sea, the sea breeze you can feel on your skin, and the sound of the waves crashing on the beach, creating a perfect tropical experience that will make your trip memorable.

The best time to visit Lengkuas island is throughout  Maret until October because it’s relatively dry. To reach this island, there are three alternative, via Tanjung Binga, Tanjung Tinggi or Tanjung Kelayang. It takes about 20 minutes to travel time to Lengkuas island from Tanjung Kelayang. While travelling through Tanjung Binga or Tanjung Tinggi, it takes approximately 40 minutes.

You will be charged for rental fees of fisherman boat for crossing to the Lengkuas island cost around IDR 300.000 up to IDR 600.000. it could load more than 10 passengers, so you can sharing the cost with your friends is a good idea.
