The exoticism of the Anambas Islands should be on your bucket list when travelling to Indonesia.

When the Dolanesia team had the opportunity to explore the fascinating islands of the Anambas Archipelago, we travel by several transportations.

There are various transportation options to get to the Anambas islands based on the route taken.  Here is our guide to visiting Anambas Island.

Flight

When the Dolanesia team went to Anambas Islands, we used the air route from Jakarta through Soekarno-Hatta Airport, which then transited at Hang Nadim Airport, Batam. It takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to Batam. To get to the Anambas Islands, the Dolanesia team continued the journey from Hang Nadim airport by Wings Air to Letung airport on Jemaja Island. This air trip takes about a 1-hour journey. For Batam – Letung flights, Wings Air only serves flights four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Other than Wings Air, you can also use The Susi Air, which operates every Thursday.

The air route costs a bigger budget than using the sea route. it can cost 1 million IDR more or less to get to Batam from Jakarta. Then you can continue from Batam to Letung with a cost range of 700k IDR.

If you plan to visit Tarempa, you can continue the journey using a speedboat for 2 or 3 hours from Letung, Jemaja Island.

Ferryboat

Besides by plane, you can travel by sea using a ferry. This ship will depart from Telaga Punggur Port, Batam. The journey by ferry takes about 8 hours, and then the boat will make a stop at Tarempa.

If you choose the sea route, you can spend 400k IDR from Batam to Tarempa. The other option is 250k IDR if you travel using Batam – Letung route.
